EASIPOINT Algotech

AN organic “apply and forget” algae and moss cleaner ideal for cleaning down stone and masonry.

Environmentally-friendly Algotech removes algae and moss in days and can be spray or brush applied to large expanses of masonry or paving as part of refurbishment or maintenance work.

Algotech’s advanced formula contains a combination of chemicals which prevents the process of photosynthesis, causing algae to die back after just a few days. However, Algotech is harmless to animals and pets, together with most forms of more complex plant life.

It works by forming a chemical shield against the light to kill off green algae, which, because the organisms are so minute, then disperses and disappears. Algotech, then prevents regrowth until the invisible residue is cleared naturally over time by rainfall.

Algotech can be applied at any point in the refurbishment process, either during works or as part of final cleaning down. It can also be used to clean roof slates, tarmacadam, concrete surfaces, fencing and many other substrates susceptible to algae growth.

In most cases, algae will be eradicated after a single application, although two coats may be necessary for more concentrated areas of growth and for more stubborn types of moss or lichen.

Algotech is supplied in 20 litre drums which, when diluted with water at the recommended 3-1 ratio, produces 80 litres of working solution, which is sufficient to treat an area 480 m2

EASIPOINT masonary routers

EasiPoint has designed an attachment that turns a standard angle grinder into a high performance router ideal for cutting out mortar and other construction materials.

Supplied in simple-to-fit kit form, the MortaRout system allows the angle grinder to be fitted with robust industrial quality router tools in various cutting widths and also has provision for vacuum dust extraction.

MortaRout provides a number of advantages over diamond cutting wheels, allowing joints to be cut both horizontally and vertically, in a variety of soft to medium-strength substrates including mortar joints, masonry, lightweight and concrete blocks.

The small, neat cutting head can be used in hard-to-reach places that are not accessible when using a cutting wheel and the cutting plate can be adjusted to achieve a standard depth and width without damage to the surrounding masonry.

EasiPoint has launched MortaRout to complement its range of gun-injected pointing mortars to provide contractors with a speedy and efficient way of cutting out old mortar prior to repointing.

However, the unit is equally useful for a host of other construction industry tasks including chasing out channels for the installation of cables and pipework, cutting reveals for switchboxes and for any channelling work in confined spaces.

The tough tungsten carbide router bits for the system are 30 mm long and available in 6mm, 8mm, 10 mm and 12mm diameter. Where a deeper cut is required a special 60mm long 8mm diameter tool is available.

EASIPOINT Optimiser system

EasiPoint high volume pump placement system is purpose-designed to provide quick, clean and consistent mortar joints for hard landscaping and masonry.

The EasiPoint Optimiser system uses a reliable electro-mechanical pump to place mortar accurately and quickly. A variable speed unit, it improves economy by limiting material wastage and is ideal for contracts involving large areas of pointing or where the availability of skilled labour is limited.

Optimiser is available through EasiPoint’s network of certificated sub-contractors or can be hired by direct labour organisations or contractors as part of a package including materials and training.

Optimiser is suitable for delivering EasiPoint Standard mortar and EasiPoint Historic for walling applications where the unique thixotropic “non-slump” qualities of EasiPoint allow the pumped mortar to be placed accurately, removing the need for acid washing.

It is also ideal for hard landscaping applications using both EasiPoint Standard mortar and SettPoint mortar for wider joints, such as gaps between natural stone setts. A range of nozzles is available to cater for various joint widths, allowing the operator to stand while applying the mortar, resulting in speedier progress and avoiding arduous bending.

The unit weighs just 35 kgs and can be transported in a light van or estate car. Robust wheels add to its portability on site, minimising set-up time.

The self-priming, high-efficiency pump unit operates on 110 volts supplied direct from mains, via a transformer or by a portable generator, depending on location.
